OMZ Group

OMZ (Uralmash-Izhora Group) is one of the largest companies in Russia, and a leader in heavy industry. It specializes in engineering, production, sales and maintenance of equipment and machines for the nuclear power, oil and gas and mining industries, and also in the production of special steels and equipment for other industries.

The company was founded Dec. 19, 1996 in Yekaterinburg, where the Open Joint-Stock Company Ural Machine-Building Plants was registered. In 1999, Izhorskie Zavody became part of the Company, which was renamed Objedinennye Mashinostroitelnye Zavody (Uralmash-Izhora Group) (OMZ). In 2004, the Czech companies Skoda Steel and Skoda JS joined OMZ.

Nowadays, OMZ divisions' facilities are located in Russia (Uralmashzavod and Izhorskiye Zavody) and the Czech Republic (PILSEN STEEL and Skoda JS). OMZ employs some 16,500 people.

The main shareholder of OMZ is CJSC Forpost-Management. JSB Gazprombank (CJSC) is a strategic financial partner. Shares of OMZ are traded in Russia, as well as in London, Berlin, Munich and New York.

OMZ strategy is aimed at business development by means expansion of the company's core assets, additional acquisitions, and the formation of strategic alliances.

The company complies with the international standards in corporate governance and information disclosure.
